Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math stands today as a radiant symbol of an unbroken spiritual lineage spanning more than five and a half centuries. Established in 1475 CE, its sacred journey began at Badarikashrama on the banks of river Alakananda, where the young brahmachari Madhav received Sanyasa Deeksha from Shree Ramachandra Teerth, the 10th pontiff of Shree Palimaru Math founded by Jagadguru Shreeman Madhwacharya. Upon initiation as ‘Shree Narayana Teerth’, they were entrusted with the divine idol of Lord Shree Ram, which remains the presiding deity of the Math.
The Math’s followers – Madhwa Vaishnava Brahmins of the Goud Saraswat Brahmin community have upheld Dwaita philosophy while nurturing devotion. Successive pontiffs strengthened the Math through scholarship, service, and preservation of sacred traditions. The Central math at Partagali, Goa along with several branch Maths across the country stands as a revered centre of learning and devotion.
To commemorate 550 years of its divine heritage, Paramapoojya Shreemad Vidyadheesh Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji initiated ‘Sardha Panchashatakoti Shree Ram Taraka Mantra Japa Abhiyana’, envisioning 550 crore chants in 550 days. The milestone was surpassed in just 511 days, reaching 593,54,14,932 chants. The celebrations continued with the ‘Shree Ram Digvijaya Rath Yatra’, which covered approximately 6,400 kilometers across seven states before culminating at Partagali on 26 November 2025.
The grand festivities commenced on 27 November, highlighted by the unveiling of a majestic 77-foot bronze ‘Shree Ram Pratima’ at the ‘Adarsh Dham’ by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bharat, Shri Narendra Modi, an enduring tribute to the Math’s 550-year spiritual legacy.
