Ganesh Pujan
Artist: Rupesh Khedekar
This majestic artwork captures the sacred ritual of Ganesh Pujan, depicting Lord Ganesha seated in divine grandeur inside a stone temple sanctum. Seated gracefully upon a radiant pink lotus blossom, the elephant-headed deity holds his traditional sacred attributes—an axe (parashu), a noose (pasha), and a modak—while extending his lower right hand displaying the sacred Om symbol in a gesture of reassurance and blessing.
The composition is framed by rustic stone pillars and adorned with hanging garlands of bright yellow and red marigold flowers. At the foreground, ritual offerings (puja thali) featuring coconuts, lighted brass lamps (diya), flowers, and a sacred water vessel (kalasha) create an atmosphere of immersive devotion. Through rich, painterly textures and vibrant contrasts between warm golden hues and deep background tones, the artist powerfully evokes the spiritual sanctity and joyful celebration of worshiping the Lord of Beginnings.
