Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha
Artist: Swapnil V. Panchal
This serene and balanced composition depicts Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha seated side by side on sculpted wooden pedestals , flanked by lush, arching banana trees. Together, the two deities represent the quintessential divine pairing invoked during Diwali and auspicious beginnings, harmonizing wealth and prosperity with wisdom, intellect, and the removal of obstacles.
Goddess Lakshmi, dressed in a vibrant red saree on the left, holds pink lotus blossoms that symbolize divine consciousness and purity, while her lower hands offer blessings and reassurance through traditional mudras. To her right sits Lord Ganesha, rendered in classical form with his elephant head, holding sacred attributes (pasha and ankusha) alongside a modak. His loyal mount, the mouse (Mooshak), sits dutifully near his feet, completing the sacred iconography.
The painterly background features a translucent turquoise gradient that creates a luminous atmosphere, drawing immediate focus to the warmth of the deities and the rich green foliage. Combining delicate line work, classic figurative proportions, and soft color gradations, the artwork exudes a timeless, elegant charm ideal for a commemorative art edition.
